Off-the-bar micro components for dental devices – turned, milled, drilled and thread cut – The manufacturer of precision devices for dental medicine, W&H, in Bürmoos, Austria, manufactures its mechanical core components independently. With virtually no manpower, state-of-the-art sliding/fixed headstock lathes produce off-the-bar filigreed and complex microparts. Many tales are being spun about the so-called ‘hidden champions’, companies that nobody knows but nevertheless are among the absolute top achievers in their industries worldwide. One such company is, no doubt, KaVo Dental GmbH. KaVo was one of the first customers to use the C100 (now they have three of them), and Josef Merk is thrilled, “Before, various parts required some type of after-treatment following the actual machining process. The automotive landscape is changing. But while the media focus mainly on electric and hybrid vehicles, the automotive suppliers’ day-to-day business is much more affected by the trend towards smaller, highly supercharged engines. One company to profit from this development is “msr Technologies” (formerly Lindenmaier), a cutting tool specialist in Untersulmetingen, Germany. CNC multi-spindle machines from INDEX play a key role in this business. A total of approx. 70% of all parts are manufactured on lathes at msr Technologies. In addition to a large number of single-spindle machines, 11 INDEX MS32 and MS52 type CNC multi-spindle machines are permanently in operation. And the specialists at msr are continuously working on improving and streamlining the processes on the machines even further...

Ready-made complex handle sleeves for dental instruments
INDEX is introducing a new generation of turning/milling centers – the R200. Two motorized milling spindles, in two independent sub-systems, will enable extremely short production times per piece, even for complex, difficult-to-cut workpieces. Use of an R200 in parts production for dental technology company Leutkircher illustrates this concept in the field...
