The construction
The machine has a completely thermallysymmetric design regarding the machine base as well as the headstock. The rigidity of the bar kinematics is far higher than that of the traditional compound slide. This leads to remarkable improvement of surface quality and tolerances, especially when hard turning. The freely moveable pick-up spindle performs all movements with the workpiece, during processing and tool changing. Movements in all 3 dimensions simplify the workpiece transfer, making it a speedy and low-cost procedure. Due to the construction principle of parallel kinematics the Y axis is part of the basic version of V100.
View into the work area
The freely accessible work area with a totally variable design has a pick-up spindle that is freely moveable in all 3 dimensions. The spindle reaches every point in the defined work area with the known X, Y and Z-axes. The V100 is especially suitable for employing additional attachments like high frequency spindles, laser devices, grinding units.
