The dual degree course at the Cooperative State University is more than just an alternative to the traditional degree courses at universities and universities of applied sciences. The special feature of the concept lies in the combination of a university-level degree course with practice-oriented training. 

At the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, two partners assume the task of qualifying students for their profession. the raining center as a place of learning for practical experience and the university as a place of study for theoretical aspects. Both form the Cooperative State University in partner-like collaboration.

In the three-year dual degree courses, the theoretical study times at the state-run university alternate with practical training times in the training company, each of 12 weeks duration on average. In this time, students with a general qualification for university entrance study for a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Arts degree that has theoretical and practical components.
